Set up thank-you page tracking

  • Google Ads: Goals > Conversions > New > Website > Page load > enter your thank-you page URL
  • Meta: Events Manager > Custom Conversions > URL contains "/thank-you"
  • GA4: Admin > Events > Create event > trigger when page_location contains "/thank-you"

Set up phone call tracking

If phone calls are a major lead source:

  • Google Ads call extensions: Add your phone number. Google tracks calls over 60 seconds as conversions automatically.
  • Google forwarding number: A tracking number that forwards to yours, recording call duration.

Set up event-based tracking via GTM

For granular tracking:

  • Form submissions: GTM trigger that fires on form submit or thank-you page view

  • Each GTM event can fire to both Google Ads and GA4 simultaneously
