4.1 Google Business Profile
Step-by-Step
Create or claim your listing
Go to business.google.com. If Google has auto-generated a listing, claim it rather than creating a duplicate.
Enter your business name exactly
Use your ABN-registered name. Do NOT stuff keywords -- Google suspends listings for this.
Choose categories and set location
Be specific with primary category. Set service areas (up to 20) or enter your physical address.
Verify your business
Methods: postcard, phone/SMS, email, or video. Don't change anything while waiting for verification.
Complete every field and upload photos
Description (750 chars), hours, services with prices, attributes. Upload at least 10 photos. Complete profiles get 7x more clicks.
Google Workspace Tip
Google will offer you Google Workspace ($7--14/month) during setup. You need it if you don't have business email yet. Skip it if you already set up email in Section 1.3.
